Behzad Farazollahi

Founder and Director
MELK, Oslo, Norway
Behzad Farazollahi is an artist, curator, editor and director of MELK gallery in Oslo. He has since the start of MELK in 2009, been one of the key figures in defining the new experimental Scandinavian photography, both as an artist and a curator. He has had numerous shows internationally and has curated over fifty exhibitions through MELK in Norway, Denmark and France.

He was editor for the critically acclaimed book “New Scandinavian Photography” (2015), published by Black Dog Publishing, London, that is now sold by museums around the world. He recently had a museum show in Kristiansand Kunsthall in Norway, and is currently working on curating a big scale exhibition for the renowned Kunstnernes Hus in Oslo.

Mr. Farazollahi is mostly interested in reviewing artists that have an experimental and progressive approach to photography, and who tries to mix media without the limitations of borders. He can also offer advice on how to use the gallery space as a tool for showing your works in the most creative and efficient way.
