Geoffrey C. Koslov

Founder, Foto Relevance LLC, and Private Collector
Houston, TX, USA
Geoffrey is a collector of photography-based work. While his collection contains known and unknown contemporary photographers, his collection spans the history of photography from tintypes and daguerreotypes to hand-painted glass plate images. He also is publishing articles about photographers which have inspired or caused him to challenge how a viewer sees and appreciates a photographic work of art.

In 2015, Geoffrey founded Foto Relevance LLC, as a conduit to connect emerging and established contemporary artists of photography-based work to private, corporate or institutional collections. He was recently engaged in building a corporate photography-based art collection for a company involving a search spanning four continents.

Geoffrey also serves on the Photography Acquisitions Committee of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the Board of the Houston Center for Photography, and was co-chair of its auction and art selection committees. As a member of the Exhibitions Committee, he participates in the selections of works to be shown by HCP. He will also be a juror for PhotoLucida’s Critical Mass 2015. He enjoys sharing his knowledge to help photographers take the next step in their fine arts career development. Geoffrey can offer advice on presentation and editing a body of work for presentation for exhibition or to collectors.
