María Elena Ortiz

Assistant Curator
Pérez Art Museum, Miami, FL, USA
María Elena Ortiz is a curator and writer working at the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM)—an institution dedicated to the presentation and acquisition of modern and contemporary art—which opened in December 2013 and was previously known as the Miami Art Museum. At PAMM, Ms. Ortiz is responsible for curating exhibitions and working with acquisition committees. She has worked at PAMM for two years and was the recipient of the 2014 CPPC and ICI Travel Award for Central American and the Caribbean.

Ms. Ortiz is interested in reviewing contemporary art works, especially those interested in addressing the complexities of contemporary culture. She is looking forward to looking for works that could be presented or acquired by PAMM. As a curator, she is searching for exciting new developments in photography and can offer advice or suggestions about creating works and working with museum institutions.
