John Rohrbach is senior curator of photographs at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth, Texas. Since joining the curatorial staff at the Carter in 1992, Rohrbach has assembled numerous exhibitions on nineteenth and twentieth century American photography and written a myriad of essays and books including Eliot Porter: The Color of Wildness (2001), Regarding the Land (2006) Accommodating Nature: The Photographs of Frank Gohlke (2007), and Color: American Photography Transformed (2013). He received his doctorate from the Program in American Civilization at the University of Delaware in 1993. He has reviewed portfolios at the FotoFest Meeting Place since 2006.

Dr. Rohrbach is interested in fully developed projects that reflect originality and excellence of craft. His interests range widely from documentary and landscape to portraiture, but he is less interested in seeing nudes or commercial work. Opportunities for acquisition and exhibition are extremely limited.
