Artist Bio

Born in Novosibirsk, U.S.S.R., in 1963, Vadim Gushchin has worked as an independent photographer since 1988. Recent solo exhibition venues include the Galleria Contarte, Rome; Kultur Bahnhof Eller, Düsseldorf, Germany; and Fotosouz Gallery, Moscow. His work is represented in the collections of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art; National Centre for Contemporary Arts, Moscow; Moscow House of Photography; Museum of Fine Arts (now New Mexico Museum of Art), Santa Fe; and Museum für Photographie Braunschweig, Germany. His work was also shown in the FotoFest 2012 Biennial entitled Contemporary Russian Photography: 1950s–2012. Gushchin’s work has been published in two monographs: Photographs. Vadim Gushchin (Moscow: Khudozhnik I kniga, 2008) and Everyday Objects/Cultural Treasures (Amsterdam: Schilt Publishing, 2013.) He currently lives and works in Moscow.
