Artist Bio

Chicago-based photographer Brad Temkin has been documenting human impact on the contemporary landscape throughout his career. He has exhibited his photographs in both the United States and abroad. His works are included in numerous permanent collections, including those of The Art Institute of Chicago; Milwaukee Art Museum, Wisconsin; Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Akron Art Museum, Ohio; and Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago, among others. His images have appeared in such publications as Aperture, Black & White magazine, China Photo, TIME, and European Photography. Other published work includes the monograph Private Places: Photographs of Chicago Gardens (Chicago: Center for American Places, 2005) and Rooftop (Santa Fe, New Mexico: Radius Books, 2016). Temkin was featured in the Discoveries of the Meeting Place exhibition (2006) at the FotoFest Biennial in Houston. He currently teaches photography at Columbia College Chicago, and has been a lecturer and visiting artist at institutions across the United States and Europe.
