Artist Bio

Adam Schreiber earned his M.F.A. at the University of Texas at Austin. His recent solo shows include Anachronic (2010), Sasha Wolf Gallery, New York; Diminishing Return (2011), Artpace, San Antonio, Texas; and Flanagan-Tiravanija (2012), Linda Pace Foundation, San Antonio, Texas. His work has appeared as well in the group shows Phantoms in the Dirt (2014), Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago, and Photography Sees the Surface (2015), Higher Pictures, New York. He is a founding member of the Austin, Texas-based artist collective Lakes Were Rivers, with recent and upcoming exhibitions including Contemporary Photographic Practice and the Archive (2013), Harry Ransom Center, University of Texas at Austin, and Strange Pilgrims (2015), The Contemporary Austin. He was a recipient of a 2014 Graham Foundation grant in Chicago for his film Living High, Letting Die. He is currently an assistant professor at DePaul University, Chicago. He lives and works in Chicago and Austin.
