Artist Bio

Houston-based artist David Politzer was born in Washington, D.C. He earned his M.F.A. from Syracuse University, New York, and was the recipient of the 2011 Houston Center for Photography Carol Crow Fellowship Award. He has had solo exhibitions at Artspace, New Haven, Connecticut; the Museum of Northern Arizona, Flagstaff; Real Art Ways, Hartford, Connecticut; Roswell Museum and Art Center, New Mexico; and Lawndale Art Center, Houston. Group show and screening venues include the Bronx Museum of the Arts, New York; New Mexico Museum of Art, Santa Fe; El Paso Museum of Art, Texas; Soap Factory, Minneapolis, Minnesota; Southern Exposure, San Francisco; Vox Populi, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Syracuse International Film Festival, New York; video_dumbo, Brooklyn and New York; and Gallery Korea, New York. He has been an artist-in-residence at Djerassi, Woodside, California; Yaddo, Saratoga Springs, New York; Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture, Maine; and Roswell Artist-in-Residence, New Mexico. Politzer teaches in the photography and digital media program at the University of Houston.
