Considered pioneers of digital imaging, Suzanne Bloom and Ed Hill began their artistic collaboration
as MANUAL in 1974. Their photographs, videos, multimedia projects, and installations have been
shown widely, both internationally and throughout the United States, including a large solo show
in 1980 at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Their work is included in many important museum
collections. They are also the recipients of numerous grants, including four National Endowment
for the Arts fellowships. A retrospective of their work was organized by the International Center
of Photography, New York, in 2002 and traveled to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston in 2004.
Their current series, The Book Project, comprises three parts: Book Project 1 with fifty-three works,
Book Project 2 including thirty-six pieces; and Book Project 3 consisting of over one hundred works.
Recently, they have begun working on a parallel project, Now and Then. Their work is represented
by Moody Gallery in Houston.
