Artist Bio

Born in 1983 in Brno, Czech Republic, Roman Franc studied at the Pedagogical Faculty of Masaryk University, Brno, earning a M.A. in education (2008) and a M.F.A. in photography from the Institute of Art Photography of Silesian University, Opava (2015). From 2008 to 2011, Franc was the photographer for the office of Czech President Václav Havel. He has taken part in a number of group and solo exhibitions in the, the U. S., Great Britain and Slovakia and featured in the SHOTS Magazine 2012 portfolio issue. His work is included in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston as well as private collections in the Czech Republic and abroad. Franc organizes and teaches photography courses and workshops for private and public institutions.
